Salthill
is one of Ireland's most popular holiday destinations, with its lapping
waters and sandy beaches being the main attractions. Located beside Galway
city (2 klms), Salthill boasts a promenade 2 miles long where locals and
visitors stroll in the evening and take the fresh sea air, while
"watching the sun go down on Galway Bay". The visitor has a host of
safe sandy beaches from which to choose.
Another popular indoor amenity is the new Aquarium just completed last year.The golden mile of restaurants, pubs and casinos also play their part by day, while musical pubs and discos are the main attraction by night.
